My DS typically sleeps from 7-4 or 5, wakes up for a feeding then goes back down for an hour or two. We thought we were on the path to STTN but it seems to have all fallen apart. For the past two nights he has been up at 9:00, 1:30, 3:30, 4:30....you get my drift. Sometimes we feed him and sometimes the pacifier will soothe him back to sleep.
I am aware of the 4 month wakeful period but is it possible that he is going through it early? He is 17 lbs and 27 inches long so I KNOW he is growing appropriately. I don't think it's a growth spurt because he was insanely cranky at 12 weeks and I think he went through it then.
Im at a loss. He is still swaddled, we use white noise, have a bedtime routine, and has no fever. He is quite gassy and usually poops every other day so while that maybe the problem is seems odd that his nights are so off but he is usually his formal happy self during the day.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
Re: Sleep regression---please tell me I'm not alone!!!
It certainly could be a wakeful period. Sleep is often disturbed when babies are learning new things as well. My DS1 was a crappy sleeper around each new milestone....rolling over, crawling, walking, talking. I remember researching why that happens but it escapes me now. It could be that he's getting ready to do something new (roll over?).
IMO, just keep up your routine and it will get better (easy for me to say, right?!).
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone

You aren't alone! DS1 and DS2 both hit the regression right at 4 months. Fortunately, I know from experience that it does pass; I just can't remember how long it takes. We also dealt with DS1's cold/fever this week, which kept him up, too. They have been tag-teaming us all week with their wake ups.
I am so tired I am shaking when I wake up. I nearly fell asleep in the shower.
Is it the weekend yet???
