So on Monday I got really sick with food poisoning. I couldn't do anything except basically throw up, so my DH ended up feeding DS with a bottle most of those two days. I probably fed him myself 2-3 times each day. Now I'm feeling much better, and of course want to go back to feeding DS, but I feel like my supply is a little low (I don't know for sure, but my boobs feel deflated, not as full, and he seems a bit fussy when eating. Still has wet/dirty diapers though). Can I use my baby to increase my supply, having him feed often? Should I take Fenugreek? Or is it too late for us? When I got sick I decided it was fine if it ended my nursing time with him, my initial goal was 6 months and I've almost made it that far. But now I'm sad and don't feel done at all (and my DS isn't done either, he adores nursing and hates bottles).
WDYT?
Re: Can I get my supply back after 2 days off?
Awesome, thank you!
Your supply probably did take a hit, but you can probably get it back too
Just to warn you, I had norovirus earlier this year and it took over a week before I was pumping the same amount as before.
However if you can nurse on demand, I hear nurse-ins are great for this sort of thing
Just hang out with baby nonstop for a few days, and offer the breast frequently, for as long as he wants to eat.
