February 2012 Moms

Naptimes suck.

I don't get it.  My LO will go back to bed after his 8am feeding and short playing around 9am.  If we nap together he will sleep until noon.  If I put him down for a nap, he sleeps for a HALF AN HOUR!  That is a huge difference.  What the hell.  I don't know if he needs to sleep more, or if the quickie nap is fine.

  • You said it.  My DS used to nap no problem, but now he fights it pretty much all day.  I catch him when he's yawning and fussing and as soon as I try to get him to sleep, his eyes become super wide and he flails around.  *sigh*  It's a struggle pretty much every time.  If I can get him down, it's only for 20 mins or so.  It's so frustrating!!

  • My LO does the same thing. I started putting her on our bed (no sheets, but her blankie) and laying down with her. She'll pass out and when she's asleep, I slowly move away and off the bed (she's not rolling over yet, so this isn't a problem). She'll sleep 2+ hours on our bed no problem. PNP? 30min-1hr.

  • So glad I'm not alone.  I thought the trauma of me going back to work was messing up her naps.  Now I think that she's just a) going through a growth spurt or b) getting ready to change up her schedule.

She has turned into the queen of cat naps at 30-45 minutes tops.  It's been rough on poor Grandma cause she thought she was gonna get more breaks but oh well....she's still getting 14-15 hours of sleep with her STTN so I guess there is no reason to be worried.

I'm convinced DD is afraid she's going to miss something interesting.

  • Had to come in just from the title. DD does 45 mins naps pretty much every single nap. 2 days ago she had one that was 2 hours and 50 minutes. I didn't know what to do with myself, it was AMAZING but unfortunately we are back to the 45 minutes of crap now. Generally she wakes up screaming. So fun.

  • Yesterday DD took a 3 1/2 hour nap - unheard of!!  Her others were about 45-hour, which is how they usually are.

This morning she took a 2 hour nap and the rest have been about 20 minutes long.  I'm watching her on the monitor now...she'll sleep for 10, wake up and fuss then sleep again for another 10...

    Come on babygirl, sleep!!!
