TTC after 35

Dh was asking me questions about my upcoming RE appt..

I was filling out his questionaire for him (he hates forms) and asking him a couple of questions I did not know the answer to and he kept the conversation going asking what I thought they would do at the appt, etc.  It was so nice to feel like he is interested!

I have a feeling that he is secretly just as anxious as I am to find out WHY we have not had any TTC luck.  Just a few more days to get some answers...  :)

That is awesome that he is showing interest, Llama!

Hmmm....I have my first appointment this week, too, but they did not send me any forms....just a different process at my clinic, I guess.

    YAY for getting answers!

  • That's great that he is interested.

You're going to learn a lot at this appointment. You'll go over everything on the form and the RE will explain some reproductive biology to you. If all the test results are back, you'll get a suggested plan if you decide to move forward with treatments.

No matter what, this is a very positive step for you guys.

    All this.

If it helps, I made a point of telling MH just before his SA that I was sure his results would come back just fine, since most IF issues over 35 are the woman's fault. Even if it's not true (I'm just assuming, really), it made him feel better.

That is great news that he is engaged and interested in the upcoming appointment! I'm sure he is anxious and I'm sure that's why it's taken him this long to get around to agreeing to this.

    You're almost there!

  • They are just history forms (when puberty started all the way thru to how many marriages you have had, etc.) You will probably have to fill them out AT your appt.   It's awesome that we are both starting with RE's in the same week!

Yay! I'm so glad to hear that he's showing interest and getting involved. This is a great sign that he'll be open to hearing and learning all they have to offer.

And, wow, that sounds like a really detailed form! I didn't get asked those questions about marriages, etc. Just regular past medical history with some attention to reproductive history.

    GL!

That was probably a good idea. I think I will end up having to tell MH the same thing, if it comes down to it.

  • Llama - Good luck! I remember the stack of forms I got from the fertility clinic(of course it was the week before my BFP). Mine asked really out there questions about antibiotics my mother may have been on while she was pregnant with me, and such. There was just no way I was filling out that much detail without letting her know why.

I'm so glad your DH is showing an interest. Maybe he's just pretending to be a macho guy that's not worried when he really is. Fingers crossed that you can get in and get an action plan to start with for this cycle!

Wow, we didn't even get a form.  Just went in and met the Dr who then told me after reviewing my medical history in the referral letter  from my GP and said "Well you're old what do you expect?" and left us to ponder that.

I'm really happy your DH is an active participant now.  It makes such a difference.

    Good luck!
