? about internals

Yesterday, I had my first internal exam because I am due tomorrow. Yowza! It was much more painful than I expected. Do they get less painful as you progress or should I expect any future internals (during labor) to feel like this? I seem to recall that an unripe cervix is higher up so I'm wondering (hoping) if it will get lower and easier to examine. Thanks!

I've been getting internals for the past 3 weeks and they have not been getting any more "comfortable" however you do know what to expect after teh first one.... I see both doctors at the practice (just in case the one I've been seeing for years is not available when I deliever I'm used to the other) but one is "rougher" than the other!!! I have another exam on Tues, unless I go into labor beforehand. I hope it gets easier

Yesterday, my bladder was full, and it moved my cervix way posterior. It was super uncomfortable. The previous appts have been like, That's it? Wow, ok. She even told me, "I'm so sorry! Just bear with me for a minute." because she knew how much it would hurt.

Mine have just been uncomfortable. If I keep my breaths steady and try not to tense up, they are more manageable, but they haven't been painful. I also am not dilated and have not bled afterwards. The doctor said you are more likely to bleed afterwards if you are dilated so I wonder if you have more pain the more you are dilated.

Every single one of mine (even during labor) hurt equally the same, but I also have a very small pelvis so I may not be the norm. My Dr even said "I know this is hurting you because it's hurting me."
