So my friend told me that I HAD to wash all my baby clothes in Dreft for the first 6 months.
I currently use All Free and Clear. There are no dies, perfumes, etc. The bottles says its "#1 Recommened by Dermatologists for Sensitive Skin". Is it ok to use on baby clothes? I don't want to assume.

At 20-week anatomy scan found IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restriction), and very low Amniotic Fluid. Now, I'm High Risk and have weekly ultrasounds to monitor fluid and growth. If baby runs out of room or is too growth restricted, they will deliver ASAP. My current goal is to make it to 28 weeks!
Re: All Free and Clear on Baby Clothes?
Any dermatologist will tell you to use free and clear detergent if you want to go with what people are least likely to react to. We use Purex Free and Clear on all of our stuff and our kids' stuff.
Dreft is heavily scented/perfumed to give it that baby smell. It is marketed as a baby detergent, but it is really a gimmick.
Most doctors will tell you to use what your family uses on your baby's clothes, since you'll be holding your baby against your clothing anyway. If you find that your baby reacts to your regular detergent, then start exploring other options. Since you use free and clear already, I'd stick with that.
Well now you know you shouldn't trust any baby advice this friend has to give you
Dreft is garbage. Any free/clear detergent is just fine.
That's the only detergent I've used for years. LO has been fine with it.
Dreft is nasty smelling...don't do it. Don't pay the price to join the hype.
Free and Clear is PERFECT!
seriously.
This.
Yup. Your friend is sadly uneducated. A free & clear detergent is much safer for baby skin. Avoid dryer sheets as well.
