Trouble TTC

Cetrotide?

So I'm doing a short cycle this round which will include cetrotide.  In the last cycle, apparently I've prematurely ovulated...RE says this can happen when you're on stim meds...hmmm...wish they told me that a long time ago...so in any event, this is my 9th try in getting preggo in 18 months...I hope this protocol works.  Does anyone know about cetro?  Can I leave the sodium chloride vial to reach room temp then mix?  I asked the pharmacist but she didn't look too sure and my doctor hasn't gotten back to me just yet.  My appointment is in 2 days to check follies, but I hate the "hurry up and wait" game.  Anyone?

Re: Cetrotide?

  • I have used cetrotide twice in my two previous IVF cycles. I had to keep it in the fridge and took it out before it was time so it got to room temp before mixing and injecting. I would say you can take it out and let it get to room temp for that day's shots but all others stay in the fridge. GL!

Thanks Jez! I was thinking that too! I hate injecting cold meds, did that the first time and learned my burning lesson for sure! I'll do it that way!

I have always let mine sit out for a few minutes before mixing and injecting.  I find it burns less if it is not ice cold.  Good luck!!

  • As soon as you mix it, you need to use it. You can let it sit out to room temp for a few hours unmixed if you'd like. The sodium chloride does not need to be refrigerated at all.
