OBGYN Concord/Charlotte area

Hi ladies,

I am currently going to GCWC for my pre-natal visits. However, I am conisdering switching doctors.  At GCWC, you have to see a couple of different doctors since it is unknown who will be there for you on your big day.  Although I realize nothing is ever guaranteed, I would rather a place where I can see the same doctor, and at least sort of expect him/ her to be there for delivery.  Any suggestions?

 Thanks!

Re: OBGYN Concord/Charlotte area

  • honestly, I think most places operate that way because the doctor's rotate call shifts. maybe if you find a place where they don't have many patients you'll luck out, but I've never heard of a place that doesn't put you on the rotation. I'm going to Eastover OBGYN and they operate that way too. Good Luck.

  • The only way I know to really have a guaranteed provider there for the delivery is to use a midwife, like at the Carolina Community Maternity Center in Fort Mill.  My daughter was born there in 2010 and this baby will be born there in January.  Have you considered that as an option?

FWIW...I used to work at University Hospital and worked with both of those groups that have been mentioned.  I was a L&D nurse before I became a mom.
