Moms of Boys ?

Is is normal for T's little pee pee to stand up almost 100% of the time.  Before I would have thought he was about to pee and I just picked an unfortunate time to change him but now it seems to be everytime I take his diaper off.  Seems a little odd to me.

  • This may sound funny, but is he playing with himself because he is wet?  I know that DS will rub himself when he is wet and sometimes his will stick up then, too.  Of course, as soon as the diaper is off, he starts grabbing and playing!

  • Hmmm I wouldn't say Liam's is up at every diaper change, it always is for the first diaper change of the day.  Maybe he's just excited to be free of his diaper for a bit?  I wouldn't worry about it.
  • N gets little baby boners a couple diaper changes a day :)  I think it's totally normal.

D is the same way. Most of the time it is his morning changes... but I've seen it throughout the day too. I think its totally normal too.

  • Now I'm wondering if Ty is the odd one?  He gets them occasionally, but not too often anymore.

I think it changes throughout time. Ash has been getting them since about 2 months old, his pedi said it is normal for boys to start getting them frequently at about a year, but that some start earlier. The frequency for Ash has varied over the last 9 months.

My LO is only occasional too. OP maybe it's when the air hits it?

  • Maybe my DS is the odd one here, I've never seen him standing at attention.....

  • Related question (sorry to hijack): does anyone still pull the head back (if your boy is circumsized) so that it doens't re-stick? Are you supposed to keep doing that, or does this boner issue make that a non-necessity?

    Boner. Ha.

    Boner. Ha.

We do, but his hides. He has a very large fat deposit that pushes the skin forward, and if we don't 1.) it gets dirty and 2.) the skin may fuse over it. I do not think that it is still necessary if your LO does not have this problem.

    hehe.. boner!

Yes, we do, but I don't think we need to though.  Sometimes it just seems like it's starting to fuse so I do, but at his 9-month the pedi said we were doing beautifully with the circ so I'm sure it's good to go now!
