As I've noted in previous posts, I'm unhappy with my current OB. So my primary doctor (who is fabulous) made a call and got me in to see a high-risk pregnancy specialist. I have an intake screening (blood tests, etc.) and then an actual appointment with the specialist a week later. It's not until mid-June, but I already feel like I am in the hands of professionals. Just wanted to express my relief (and thanks to those of you who advised me to look for a better doctor).
My question: Does it make sense for me to keep my u/s appointment with my old OB (it's next Thursday) or is there something weird about going to him for one more appointment if I know that I'm most likely going to jump ship?
Re: Two-timing my OB
Personally I think if it's an u/s appointment then you should keep the appointment. You get to see your LO, and the info could be important for the new OB to have. You might feel awkward, sure, but it might also confirm your decision even further. When you do switch, you probably won't even be speaking to the old OB, just asking the front desk to forward your records. So I say keep it -- unless insurance isn't covering the appt and you don't want to pay for an appt with an OB you're not happy with. If that's the case, then I might cancel, as long as you are sure the new OB is going to take you on as a patient.
