Anyone ever have a spinal headache? (RCS)

If you had a repeat csection did you get it again?

I had one with my first and I had to get the blood patch. They said it was the result of the guy sticking the needle in too far?  He told me when he did it that I have slight scolosis (sp?) but I was always checked as a kid and I never had that.  I wonder if maybe he was trying to cover his a$$ because he knows he stuck the needle in too far.

 

How likely is it to get another spinal headache with a RCS?  I don't want to go through that again, it was horrible.  Especially because they didn't diagnoise me for one until the morning before I left.  Worst migraine ever.

    I don't have any advice, as I've only had 1 c-section, but I'm curious as to the answers you get!  I had a spinal headache with my section, and had to get a blood patch the day after I was discharged, as the head anethesiologist told me to just keep drinking coffee and it would go away (even though I was leaking spinal fluid). It sounds like it was for the same reason as yours too.  The anethesiologist went too far, gave me a spinal instead of an epidural, which I believe is the whole reason I needed a c-section in the first place.

    I have not had a RCS but I had 3 spinals.  I got the worst (spinal) headache of my life with the first, and nothing of the sort with the next two.  It does depend on the placement of the needle and the person doing it.  GL

    My last delivery was the one I got a spinal headache from so I can't speak of the next delivery. However, I can tell you I didn't have it with my first c-section, it's a rare occurance (there's only a 1 in 100 chance), and it's an error on the anasthesiologist's part so your chance of getting it again is pretty small.
