I'm a crafty kinda girl, but I've never knit a thing in my life. I'm jealous of the people that sit and knit while holding a perfectly normal conversation with you. I don't want to try anything crazy, just a simple blanket. Anyone know of any good Youtube teaching videos or simple patterns to try?

i 2nd knittinghelp.com and ravelry....ravelry is free to join, and there are so many free knitting projects and so many awesome people to help you
i learned to knit when my sister was pregnant for the first time and knit her a blanket for the baby...my 7yo nephew still uses it...and after my niece was born i knit her a blanket it as well....
i'm already looking through all the patterns on ravelry (i'm knittingchick for anyone who's on there) and i can't wait to start knitting baby things for me!
I've been learning to crochet too! I've always been a crafty kind of girl, and I love cross-stitching and sewing. But for whatever reason, crochet has been WAY hard for me. It's definitely not one of those things I can do while I sit and talk to someone, let alone relax or watch a movie. Sigh, hopefully it will get easier the more I practice.

If your interested there is an awesome gal on youtube - the crochet geek, and she makes learning new techniques and patterns easy. I learned how to make hats from her tutorials.
Good luck and have fun! It's so cool to put something on your baby that you made yourself!
Praying that this baby stays with me.
Thanks, Ladies!
I am going to pick up some yarn today to practice with (I already have a plethora of needles from my G-ma)
