Where to put pack & play? + kitchen Q

Where are you guys putting it? I was thinking downstairs and using it mostly as a changing station.
I don't think we will have room in our living room for it because we will already have a full size swing taking up some space. Our living room is a really good size, but we have 2 huge dog crates taking up 2 corners.
This leads to my second question. What do you plan on doing with baby (babies) when you are cooking or doing stuff in the kitchen? I might have to put the pack and play in there, but for sanitary reasons I don't know if that is the best idea. I don't want to leave the babies in the living room while I am cooking in the kitchen. Thoughts?

We ended up with 2 pack n plays, so one goes in our bedroom and one goes downstairs in the living room.
As far as what to do with LO(s) while cooking, or cleaning, we planned to put him in his bouncy seat and when he's older, his bumbo, and when he's old enough, his walker.
Our pack and play is going in our family room downstairs.
As for cooking, probably what PP said. Either in a bouncy seat, swing, or something comparable.

pnp - unsure yet.
kitchen - if sink is full of dirty dishes, the baby will go in the microwave if i'm using the stove, and in the oven if i'm using the microwave.
With our son we moved the pnp around a few times (family room, kitchen eating area, dining room). We used it for napping early on because we didn't like him being upstairs while we were downstairs as a newborn and we just wanted to look at him as much as we could :-) We used it as our downstairs changing table for over a year, well after he was napping upstairs in his crib. I found it much easier to change him while standing up instead of getting down on the floor. I did try to put him in the pnp to play while I did stuff around the house sometimes, but he hated being confined.
My son loved his swing, so he was often in there if I was cooking or something, or my husband was holding him. Although, to be honest, I rarely cooked after our son was born, my husband took over most of the cooking. My son nursed all the time and it would have been very hard for me to cook an entire meal without having to stop and nurse him.

We are putting the PNPin our bedroom since LO will be sleeping in it next to our bed for the first few months.
We have a pretty open floor plan, and I can easily see/access the living room fromt he kitchen, so LO will probably be in his swing/bouncer/ laying on a blankie or something in the living room while I cook.
Our PNP is going in our living room. I need some place to be able to put the baby so he/she doesn't get slobbered on by the dog!

we don;t use our formal dining room, so I am setting it up as a nursery. The Co-sleeper (full size) will go in there, and I already have a changing table in there. The nursery is right off the kitchen so on the off chance I ever get a minute to cook or clean, they can stay in the next room.

Due to lack of space, when DD is
months it's strictly a travel crib (we have family all over the country who want to see her when she gets here), but after that craziness is over, I plan on parking it in the living room until she can climb out of it.
As for what to do with baby while cooking, cleaning, etc. I plan on using a bouncy seat or "excersaucer" or anything that keeps baby entertained/distracted and "contained" and reasonably safe while she might be out of sight
I just peed a little. This is brilliant and creative parenting!
The pnp will go in our room since that's what LO will be sleeping in (that's the goal, anyway), and I'll put baby in the bjorn or Moby while I'm cooking. But that's part of why I'm doing freezer meals...so cooking is quick.
You can put one in the swing, and the other in a wrap. Or one in a bouncer, and one in a swing. Or whatever configuration is working for you at the moment. It probably is going to depend a lot of the mood of each baby at that particular time--I don't think you'll always be able to rely on the same thing. It will be good to have lots of options available!
