Hmmm What Do You Think?

If you already have kids or have been in a situation where you ended up seeing the Nickelodeon show Blue's Clues - Blue, main dog, is a girl and Magenta, her friend is actually a boy. My friend says to me "I think that is absolutely ridiculous, I don't want my kids watching a show that perpetuates homosexuality" I looked at her and thought that is what you think your kids are pulling from this show...

I personally don't think that because I don't associate gender with color but to each is own...thoughts...

    Magenta is a boy? didnt know that.

    And I forget that blue is a girl. lol

    I think she is reading too much into it.

    But i will tell you what. When blues clues first came out, Steve was the cats meow.

    Im actually not kidding here...all the new moms i knew, far and wide, thought so! lol

    his brother...not so much.

    I haven't seen the show in years because I find it to be annoying. But the don't the dogs just follow clues to find missing items??

    mmmm ... Steve from Blue's Clues ... I was a nanny when that show first came out and I SWEAR TO GOD that 1/2 hour of Stever-time got me through the day.

    Kids that small do not know anything about homosexuality unless you teach it to them.  I have watched Blues Clues with my younger sibilings several times and just because the colors of the characters do not match the "normal" gender stereotypes does not mean the show is teaching kids to be gay. 

    Your friend is reading too much into it.  All kids know is that there  is a dog and her friend and they learn things by working together.  Tell your friend to take a chill pill.
