So I have been hearing that soft serve ice cream is a no-no during pregnancy, due to some chemical in the machine it comes out of. Is this really the case?? I just want a freakin' milkshake!!!!
It has nothing to do with chemicals. If the machines aren't cleaned properly they can breed listeria but the risk is low, same as produce and deli meat.
I thought that sounded really stupid. I am SO getting a milkshake today!! Lol!! I read WAY too much when I first found out I was preg. so I will now just erase that totally from my mind! I figure if it was bad for us everyone would be sick!!
I hope they're ok; because that's all I've been talking about lately!! I'm going down to Charlotte next month and want to go to Chic Fil-A for a cookies & Cream milkshake!! They're so good!
It's not a chemical thing but a cleanliness thing. The machines at places like McDonald's are often found to have listeria and other harmful bacteria in them because they are not properly cleaned on a regular basis.
If you want a milkshake, go for it -- but find an ice cream shop or someplace that makes them fresh and not from a machine. Better for you anyway.

I'll second that.
