Weird/random sperm question

Hey all!

I lurk here from time to time, but haven't posted yet. My wife and I are on our 2nd little one. Our first is 16 months and we're due in October.

This is a totally weird/random question that I don't know who to ask! We have 3 vials of "specimen" as our dr calls it...aka sperm. They're just sitting there at the fertility specialists office. We don't think we want any more kids after #2 and they won't take returns. Anyone know what we can do with it?

It sounds like you have already talked to them about it, but have you asked them if you could transfer the vials to another patient at the same practice? They are expensive, after all, and someone who is looking to switch donors might appreciate the chance.

You can sell them. We used CCB and the also won't take back vials that left their facility. However, the have message boards and a Facebook page that people post vials for sale on all the time. The seller usually stills at about half price and the buyer pays the shipping and container rental fee. You should see if your bank has boards or a FB page. Someone else who used your donor might really want those vials... Especially if he is retired.

Thanks for your input! I will definitely look into both of these things. You're right. It IS expensive! I think we paid about $2000.00 for what is in the vault at the doctors. thanks again!!
