  • It's looking like several of my past clients will be riding in the equestrian events so I will definitely be watching! I can't wait until we see the final rider list.

It is especially because I have been out of the equestrian industry for 6 years or so. One of the girls was in her early teens and now she is going to the Olympics.

  • No, the Olympics is making my life hell. The Olympic stadium is a few miles from my house and they are closing all kinds of roads around us. Driving back from Ireland with our kids is going to be hell since we are coming back right in the middle of the events (beginning of August). The city is already so congested, but with all of the people coming in for the events it is going to be a nighmare.

The equestrian events are especially going to be a problem for us since they are being held in Greenwich Park, which is where Saoirse and I go every day. It is a huge park, but they are closing about half of it for the events and then they have to re-seed the ground and let the grass germinate before opening it up again, which is not until next spring! So we are losing a huge part of our beautiful park. I'm not sure what we're going to do for the rest of the summer if we can't go there.

The only good thing about the Olympics is that the city is going to be so congested that most companies are offering employees flexible work schedules because commuting might be impossible. This means that DH might be able to work from home for the month of August, which is great since he will be home to help out with the new baby.

Ugh, I get the excitement about the Olympics, but I can't muster any this year. It's just a pain in my a$$.
