I know that LO is getting used to the food that we giving her. I understand that she is learning how to eat and textures and such. During every meal about 1/4 of it goes to the dog or on the floor and during her snack she insists on throwing all of it on the floor and then eating it. I don't want to discourage her in fact I try to encourage her to eat it from the bowl. I just can't pick it up anymore! Is it too early to "discipline" (I am using this term extremely loosely) her for this behavior? I don't want to always just given in since I know that will not get me far in the future. What do you do when LO does something constantly that you don't want them to do?

Re: throwing food ?
Ev was doing this too. I started either removing the food from his tray, or if he was at the end of the meal, totally taking away the tray. I noticed that he would start to throw food when he was sick of a particular item of food or when he was sick of eating. Taking away the food or the tray really helped.
The other thing I noticed was that if I gave him too much at once he'd start throwing it. Now I just give a few pieces of each thing at a time and he's more likely to eat it than give it to the dogs.
So to answer your question I don't think it's too early to discipline at all, and in fact it's worked really well for us.
I've noticed this too.
I also agree with PP that she's usually done when she is getting mad and throwing her food.
