DH and I have been throwing some names around. We have changed our minds quite a bit so far and may continue to do so up until our baby is born ![]()
Here are two names we are liking right now... which do you prefer?
Eva Dahlia - Dahlia would be after DH's grandmother.. we'd love to use as a first name but my sis named her DD Delilah and it would bother me that there first names would be so close. We figured we could still use it as a middle name.
Layla Dee - Dee would be after my grandmother. Her actual name is Aletha, but she has been called Dee, her entire life, because that's what she called herself when she started talking
We figured Dee could be a cute middle name.
DH is leaning towards Eva Dahlia. I like both names!
Re: Opinions on girl names
I think it sounds very cute. :>
Layla Dee is just perfection. I think Eva Dahlia is a bit of a mouthful (something about both names ending in the "a" sound?), but Layla Dee sounds sweet, musical, and feminine but can be tough too. Love that it has special meaning for you as well.
That's my vote!

I love Layla Dee!
I like both.
Layla is my youngest DD's name. I originally wanted Ava but Layla was DH's main choice. I'm glad we went with Layla. Maybe if this baby is a girl we'll leave Ava as a choice.
Thanks ladies!! I love them both and for different reasons.
Eva Dahlia I like because we'd be incorporating the name Dahlia, which both DH and I love, but can't use because it's so similar to my niece's name (Delilah). Also love the name Eva. Dahlia is also DH's grandmother's name and means something like... a flower rooted in Mexico.. obviously the Dahlia. DH is 100% Mexican. So this is nice. He really likes the name for this reason. I just don't want to force the names together or force it to work though.
I think I like the actual sound and flow of Layla Dee better, personally. Of course, Dee, would be honoring my grandmother as well.
Settling on a name is going to be tough!!
Both names are great. But I do like Layla Dee better. I also think Aletha is a wonderful name along with Athena. With your choices you can't go wrong. Let us know what you utimately pick
Layla Dee is so darn cute!
I've always wanted to name a little girl Layla... then my sister named her cat that so I will live vicariously through you!
,me too!!! This is my vote too!
