Kinda XP from VBAC board

~Sorry for iPad formatting~ I posted something similar on the VBAC board, but don't think it came across how I meant it at all. I thought maybe you ladies might have more insight. I was induced at 36w5d with DD because of pre-e. My cervix was not even a true 1 cm and I doubt I was effaced at all. 2 day failed induction ended in c/s. . Now, at 35 weeks I've had major weight gain the past 3 weeks and elevated protein levels last week. The nurse jumped right to induction at 39 weeks "anyway", while the doctor wasn't concerned, yet. I'm having a lot of swelling and at least BH contractions. I am NOT asking about trying to induce myself at 35/36 weeks. I am however wondering if there is anything that can help my cervix be in better shape if my next appointment is a replay of my DD's 36 week appointment. . I really hope this comes out better this time. I don't want to sound like the crazy pregnant lady trying to have her baby early.

Some people have success with evening primrose oil to help ripen their cervix.  You might want to ask your care provider about it.

  • You can try evening primrose oil, taken orally or vaginally. Good luck!

  • Red raspberry leaf tea may help as well. My MW gave me a version called Mother's Tea by Western Botanicals. You can get it at www.westernbotanicals.com . They wanted me to start taking it in 1st tri but I waited until 30ish weeks. Now I'm having a few too many BH so I stopped the tea. They said they sometimes use larger doses to start labor. HTH!
