Vent - missing the baby shower

So, I know most of us would rather avoid the random baby shower than attend. But, I have psyched myself up for it, and I am happy for this woman and I wanted to re-introduce myself and I was looking forward to going. 

But I am having a really sucky day, and forgot my wallett.  So, I was not able to go to the Shower.  My boss went, I explained I forgot my wallett 3 times and thought maybe she might spot me and I'd pay her back tomorrow, but she just packed up and left and said "I'll give her your regrets".  Seriously?

So, I'm a little upset.  Upset with myself for being so silly as to leave my wallet in my other purse.  Upset that my boss, who invited me, wouldn't lend me the $20 I would have spent on Lunch for the afternoon.  Upset that I won't see this woman to wish her well. And even more upset that she is going to think it was a pretty lame excuse not to go.

Sigh... plus I'm really hungry....

    I am so sorry for you.  Did your boss know that you were asking for money?  Maybe she thought that you were just using that as an excuse not to go (my office would think that if it was me).

    She knew, she said "I don't think I can cover you."  I would have paid her back tomorrow morning. 

    I think, that if she really wanted me to go, she would have offered. 

    So that irks me more, because why would you invite me if you didn't want me to go.

    OK.... I've given this too much of my time. 

    I've sent the woman a nice email with congratulations and apologies.

    Letting it go now.

    Yeah not bad. 

    I'm regular like that though and it always looks sooooo good.  But alas, still waiting for the BFP.

    I'm glad that you're feeling better about everything now.  I hate it when you've psyched yourself up for something & then can't go through with whatever it is that you psyched yourself up for in the first place!

    Ugh. Very disappointing, but I'm glad you've moved on.

    I'm always forgetting my wallet too when I switch handbags.

    This is why I love my Miche purse-- I just change the outside shell and all my stuff stays together when I "switch" purses.

    And for the record-- your boss is a megalomaniacally HUGE douche-canoe. I mean, what super-mega-b!tch hay ride is she on?!? I would go grab my now-remembered wallet tomorrow and pay some little snot-nosed filthy street urchin to kick her in the shins. 

    I hope you ate something delicious to curb that hunger.

    Oh God that is funny.  Thank you!  I just got home 3 hours late from work.  DH made me a cup of tea and I opened this and just about blew the first sip out my nose while reading this!  haha  Thank you!!!
