When did you start feeling action in your ovaries during IVF stims?

I am only on day 2 of stims but was already feeling action in my ovaries on day 1 of stims, maybe 5 or so hours after my first shot. With my IUI injectables, I didn't really feel anything until day 4 or 5. I am worried that things are going to fast, and even woke up at 3:30 AM due to pangs and twinges.

Is this normal or should I call the nurse?

When did you start feeling little twinges and pangs?

I consider myself fairly sensitive to ovary "pain" as I have it every month when I ovulate.

I would say around day 2 I could start to feel things. Around day 5 it was definitely happening and before ER it was pretty intense.

I think what you're feeling is normal. Remember the goal is lots of follies, so with IUI you might have at max 3 or 4, but with IVF you could easily have up to 20 decent sized follies - and don't forget, even those smaller ones take up space.

Also, they will drop your med level or move up your ER if things are moving too quickly and they'll use u/s and an E2 level to check.

And your RE says everything is going well for you? I guess I just expected some level of...acknowledgement that I've taken these shots and I really haven't. Not that I want to be uncomfortable...at ALL, but I just want to see if there are other folks experiencing the same thing as me.

Next monitoring is Thursday. My last appt was Friday and i had 3 follies. I am on a very high dosage so thats why i have a sad face because i was expecting so much. But it was still early. I havent spoken to him about the way i feel physcially though so it may be a fluke!

ETA: im an idiot. I usually feel ovulation, not follicles growing.

I'm on day 6 of stims (450 Gonal F + 150 Menopur). I definitely have some twinges, lower back pain.

ETA: I forgot about the hot flashes. I had several yesterday & today too. Devil

It takes me a while to feel anything - probably almost a week of stims but then it comes on quick. I actually tend to feel more discomfort after ER.

Looking back, I had a few twinges the first night, but not again untill about day 5 on stims. Good luck! At this point we are just so aware of our bodies we feel EVERYTHING!!!

Booooo! Headaches and hot flashes are no good.

I also am getting a headache and had insomnia.

I just talked to the nurse and she checked in with the RE. He said what is different is that I was on Menopur only for IUI's. Now I am on FSH plus Menopur. He said what I am feeling is the side effect of the FSH only (Gonal-F). He said it's normal and I should continue on the same (high!) dose.

It's crazy how much variation people feel depending on your own body! So weird - I don't get it.

You are not an idiot. I always feel ovulation (ouch!) and during my previous IUI cycles with Follistim, I felt lots of twinges/activity. So far, it's been pretty mild for me and I am on a higher dosage of Follistim + Menopur. Oh well!

what is your dosage? i started at 750 now im at 675, with 1 vial of menopur. Im also on Ganirelix in the AM.

I'm on 75 of Follistim & 1 vial/powder of menopur - I started with this Fri night and no changes after my monitoring appointment today. I feel like my dosage is so incredibly low compared to others. Of course, I realize that everyone is different so maybe that is it.

What did they see at your monitoring appointment today? You are on such a low dosage - lucky duck!

If only I could be on that low a dose, I'd be saving hundreds per day.

OVERLY AWARE is my problem too. Nurses have actually said to me before: "There is no way you can feel that." I guarantee that I can - only my acupuncturist believes me.

I did not start to feel anything until about day 3 of stims. It was really intense closer to my ER and I couldn't wait to be relieved of the pain. I noticed that I had started to walk slow toward the end, otherwise I felt the twinges really bad.

During my fresh cycle, I never felt anything at all the whole time I was stimming--no cramping or twinging at all. But, I had a good retrieval. I guess some people feel things and some don't. It doesn't necessarily mean that it's not working. Good luck on your cycle!
