DD will only eat at daycare

I keep reading all of these posts about your LOs eating all of these foods.  DD is nowhere near that.

DD won't eat solids for me...only for daycare.  She will play with them, put them in her mouth at home, but will eventually throw it on the floor.  She will not take a spoon at all from me.  At daycare she eats 1/2 c of veggies a day!  Yesterday she cried when the squash was all gone.  My kid is a weirdo.

While on vacation last week her poops changed back to runny because she wouldn't eat, and my supply had to build back up again.  What a mess.  Oh well, hopefully she'll be off the boob by the time she gets her divers license.

Has anyone heard of this before?  DD's pedi isn't concerned, and I'm trying not to be concerned.  I just wish I could feed her.

Re: DD will only eat at daycare

  • Maybe she just associates you with nursing and so she doesn't want to eat from you. I wouldn't worry, lots of LOs are barely eating solids at 1yr.  After all, she has another 80 years to eat all the foods she wants, but only a short time left as a baby.

While my kid eats a lot now, he wasn't always that way. It really seemed like one day a switch flipped and he decided he wanted food.

Just keep offering different things. Have you tried finger foods? I would just offer her some foods when you sit down for meals, eventually she'll start to join in and in the meantime she can keep you company from her high chair.

Thanks for the suggestions.  My and DH's schedules are so crazy that we don't eat dinner until after she is in bed (7:00).  So we only eat together on the weekends.  I guess that is why she doesn't associate solids with me.  :(  I was hoping that 10 days together would help, but it didn't.
