Ergo Organic Vs. Sport

I have an Ergo Sport and just ordered an Organic and might take back the sport but before I do that can you please tell me what you love and dislike about both or compare them for me? Is the Sport really that much cooler (temperature wise) than the Organic? I dont like the look of the performance so its definately between the sport and the organic. the sport to me seems a little loose in the shoulders for my petite frame. any opinions???

Re: Ergo Organic Vs. Sport

  • I have the Organic, but have never tried the sport.  I love the Organic, but can not say it is very cool.  I have taken my son off and we were both sweaty.  If you have a store that is near you that has carriers, you may be able to go and try on the organic and see if you like the fit any better than the sport.  That was what I did when I was choosing carriers.

  • I have worn the organic and have the sport. I prefer the sport. Much cooler!
  • We have the organic. Love the fabric but our LO has been overheating in it, in the infant insert and outside of it. I am curious wether the sport or the performance is better too.

I have owned both. I live in Texas so it's hot here, but I didn't notice a difference in temperature. Both DD and I both tend to get sweaty in either one. The sport is a much lighter, thinner material so it may make a difference in milder weather. In Texas, you're going to be hot if you babywear, that's just how it is.

One thing I noticed about the sport that I didn't like was that the back went slightly higher and would rub DD's neck. She got a rash a couple of different times from it. It doesn't do it anymore, but it did up until she was around 9 or 10 months. The original and organic both have bullets under DD's bottom so she just sits better in them (a more seated position IMO) and the material is about 3/4 of an inch or so lower on her neck. DD is on the small side and this wouldn't be an issue for a taller baby.

If you have a store near you that carries them, I strongly recommend going and trying them on with your LO before purchasing.

  • I just had to tell you that your siggy pic w/ baby in the skunk costume is FREAKING ADORABLE :) That is all ;)

Thank you! I keep thinking about changing it since it's not Halloween anymore, but too many people know me by it.

  • I totally want that costume now!

It is from babies r us so maybe they'll have it again this year. They sold out of them last year way before Halloween so keep your eye out when costumes start hitting stores.
