My dog is at the vet

Our shepherd from my sig is getting checked out this morning. I think he's got something major going on. He's had arthritis in his front elbow, but his limping has progressed rather dramatically and I think his poor hips have dysplasia. He started dragging one of his back paws a couple days ago and DH said they think it's something neurological. I'm waiting for the report from him still. Poor guy, breaks my heart :(

    Oh no!  Big ((HUGS)) to you.  I hope it isn't anything serious and that he can be treated easily.  Keep us posted.

    Well, it's not good news. He does not have hip dysplasia, but he has severe arthritis in his spine, which is basically slowly cutting off the nerves to his hind legs, and paralyzing him :(

    They gave him some steroid and pain medication and he's doing a little better, but they told us its only temporary. They told us to start thinking of our next steps. :(

    I'm so sorry Katt. I hate that they age faster than we do. 

    Do you guys live in one story house? We have a friend with a shepherd in a wheel chair. They do pretty well, considering. Their dog is young, so it may not be an option for you guys. 

    I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and hug my pups extra tight.
