TTC after 35

TTC at 38 - first month of our TTC Journey

Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and just wanted to say hello.  My husband Brian (45 yrs old) and I (38 yrs old) have recently gotten married after 4 years and would like to try and have a baby.

In terms of our age, I realize that we are in for quite a challenge and perhaps a real emotional rollercoaster ride.  Looking forward to hearing from you and would appreciated any words of wisdom.

Best of luck to all of you.

  • Welcome and congratulations on your new marriage! ?My husband and I were the same ages as you and your husband when we married a year ago. Just remember, that age isn't always a factor in getting pg. ?Lots of women our age and older get pg quite easily! ?Unfortunately, I am not one of them. Best of luck in your journey.

  • Hi, I am 39 right now and ttc #2. I am 18 DPO and really should test because there is a good chance I may be pg after trying for a couple of months. I have been late before so.........Anyway, I got married at 36 and ttc #1 at 37 and got pg on the first cycle that I really had good timing (Used a CBEFM). There are a lot of people on this board who have difficulties and some who have not. While age is a factor, I know many people in their late 30's who did not have any difficulties. I also have a few younger friends who have had a lot of trouble conceiving. Everybody's situation is different. Good luck!

  • Welcome, Louise!

Like you, I am a newlywed?married in June?and am 38.  MH is 37 and we are TTC our first child. It really is an emotional rollercoaster but I wish you the best and hope you will get pregnant easily.

I'll know tomorrow if I'm pg or not, since my cyce is typically predictable at 28 days, but I don't think I am. We'll see...

    Wishing you the best!

  • I will keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.
  • Welcome! I got married 2 months before turning 37 and now I am 38 and not pg yet. But that said, many women do get pg easily at our age, so we have to keep trying and hoping and have a plan in place in case it doesn?t happen soon. GL and I hope you get your BFP!
