  • why is there something wrong with it?

Of course I wanted St Luke's but I really love my OB and figure ultimately I am going to be spending A LOT more time at my OB anyway... then I saw NYU had great reviews.

  • I have only met one other woman who is delivering there.  Everyone else is at Lenox Hill, St. Luke's or NYU and I think NY Downtown is generally not thought of as a great place.  I really like my OB though and the hospital is close to my apartment, has low C-section rates and "rooming in."  We'll see how it goes!

Btw, the phrase "C U next Tuesday" is amazing.

  • I am delivering at Roosevelt.  Delivered DC #2 there a couple years ago.  It was a good experience - wait in triage was a bit long and I ended up with no epidural but my labor was super fast, so I don't think I would have had time for one anyways.  I thought about switching to Mt Sinai because people love it there, but I really like my OB practice and it seemed like such a pain...  I've heard good things about NYU.

right? I generally dislike using the c word bc of feminist implications but this is a special case, hahaha.

I'm delivering at Sinai. I work there so I know some of the L&D nurses. I also get a employee discount on a private room.I'm thinking about switching my OB to a high risk since I have a moderate clotting disorder. A coworker of min delivered at Sinai and had an enjoyable experience.

I had a neighbor and coworker that delivered at St Luke's and had nothing but good things to say.

  • I recently delivered my baby at Mount Sinai in New York City.  I had to wait about an hour before being admitted (though I'm not sure why, since I was pre-registered, and it wasn't a busy night), and after being admitted, the doctors and nurses basically left us alone in the delivery room for another hour.  I was in such pain and begging for an epidural, but they said they had to run a platelet test and wait for the results, which would take at least an hour.  At the end of that hour in the delivery room, my baby started coming out of me, so I had to yell for someone to come in to help me.  My delivery ended up being super fast, with no epidural.  In the end, everything was ok, but I'm not sure if Mount Sinai was slow or just average compared to other hospitals.
