Julia has started refusing her bottle (again) at daycare. She nurses just fine at home with me. This happened a couple of months ago and was teething related. After a couple of weeks she went back to the bottle. But, now that she is almost 11 months, I don't really think we should push her back to the bottle. I checked with the Drs office (because I'm paranoid like that), and the nurse agreed to go ahead and transition to the cup exclusively.
So.. finally, my question. How often do you offer the cup? I'm thinking that the daycare ladies should give it to her during the times when she would normally get a bottle. Do you think they should offer milk with meals, too? Right now she gets water in a cup with her breakfast, snacks and lunch. Should they continue to give her water with meals or more breastmilk?
Just like everything, this seems kind of worrisome right now. I'm sure in a month it will be no big deal.
Thanks ladies!!!!!!!!!
Edited to add: by cup I mean sippy cup
Re: Those that have transitioned to the cup
So what do you offer at dinner? Water? Thanks for responding, by the way :-)
Most of the time water... but she likes to drink some and then dribble it down her chin which just gets crazy messy. But normally about 5oz of water and then I take it away after she has had about 2 or so. Good luck!
