I had my baseline u/s yesterday and I knew something was up when they said that my doctor had requested that they count all of my antral follicles (rather than just stopping counting once they hit 30)
It took them a while to count them all and now I feel like such a freak of nature....like a crazy egg factory mutant! They counted 73 on one side and 70 on the other. 143 total. What the heck?!?!?! I didn't even know that was possible! I feel so weird about this. I knew I had very PCOSy looking ovaries but I always assumed that I had just a few more than average....not that many!
We're moving forward with this round of clomid, but they said it was unlikely that I would respond and that if we went to injects I would likely overstim.
So here's my new chart about antral follicles:
3 and under- low
4 to 15- normal
15 to 30- high/normal
30 +- too high/pcos
140+ - freak of nature/egg factory

That is crazy! Mine always usually say 20 or 30+, they never usually count them since I have so many, but I know for a fact, I don't have that many!
I didn't respond to Clomid & went to injectables. They need to stim you very, very slow & I think you would still be fine.

Oh and the vacay was awesome!! Just what DH and I needed....lots of time to relax and remember how blessed we are to have each other!
Isn't it just absolutely nuts?? I mean....that's about 12 times what is normal!
I'm hoping you're right about the low and slow approach with stimming!! I'm researching like crazy now!

Wow that is a lot! I hope they find a drug dose that works well for you so you don't over stim. Good Luck!

I have over 30 (but not quite as high as 70 on each.. although they never counted each and every one!) and definitely did not overstim on injects - so it can really be managed by your doctor!
Good luck!
Yayy shay for inspiration!!! I'm still hopeful!!
And thanks to everyone else for rooting me on for non-freaky medicated cycle!!
Love, The Mutant Egg Factory
Lol! Good luck!
Here I am picturing you as a real egg factory. If you did do IVF and they tried to stim them all, you could do one fresh cycle and have 140 frozen cycles to flow :P
Muah!
