I really don't get it .. ?

I'm 38 weeks TODAY, yay :)

On Friday, I had my checkup with the doctor and he said I was dialated 3am, 80% effaced. He doubts I will make it to 39 weeks, but we will see.

What I don't get is WHY my body, all day yesterday, had these dull like cramps, then from 1:30am to almost 5am, had these painful cramps, then just QUIT!!

I think my body likes to tease me..

Does anyone else have this?

    I figured it was close. It's been going on like that on and off like that since Friday. I can tell though because the baby's head is pushing down EVEN MORE on my pelvic bone. I must be completely thinned out.

    Oh, now I'm scared, again

    I have had dull cramps all morning this morning and was actually going to post something about them..lol  They are not painful, just uncomfortable and annoying in the fact that my mind is being played with.  I told my DH if they keep going until I get out of work, I am definitely calling my dr.

    My body has been doing the same thing. I was 3cms dilated last Wednesday. It is really frustrating to be in so much pain and then have it just stop. I just keep telling myself that it's helping me dilate and my body is getting ready for labor.

    Yeah, it's just our bodies playing with us! I am VERY frustrated though. I've tried everything too, to get things rolling. Walking, Sex, Spicy food-- Not sure how well this one will work. I guess I'll find out in a few hours! lol

    I just feel off today ... I don't want to do ANYTHING, but I don't want to just sit on the couch either. ha, ha

    Oh yeah, @ 34 weeks, I would def be calling!

    I'm 38 weeks, and my doctor told me Friday that if I had the baby TODAY, he would be fine, so I'm really not worried about calling. I'm just waiting for those painful contractions or cramps, or whatever. I didn't have them w/ my first, so I really have no idea what to expect as far as PAIN. I'm sure I'll know though.

    I have had a bit of that too... I think they are just Braxton Hicks like stuff, right?!

    3cm and 80% ?!?  You are doing great!  The marathon is almost over!  This is just your body practicing for labor.  I can not get over how 'smart' my body is throughout all of this.  Now if only my preggo BRAIN can catch up...

    Yea for making progress!  I had my appointment last Friday, and once again, no signs of progress.  I'm fairly confident I'm going past my due date, but we'll see.
