C-sections

If you had a scheduled c-section...

Were you able to sleep at all the night before? I have had such insomnia lately...I a, afraid if I get up at all that night that I will be wide awake worrying all night! This will be a RCS for me, but last time I did not have time to worry, it was so last minute...

Re: If you had a scheduled c-section...

  • My last one was not scheduled but I was awake for about 50 hours before and after. I have #2 scheduled for May 25th so I am about to find out! Maybe your adrenaline will kick in and you won't be able to sleep. If so, it should get you through.
  • I had a scheduled c/s.  We had to be at the birth center at 6am.  I think I finally went to bed at about 11pm and got about 4.5 hrs of sleep.  I got up at 4:30ish to shower and pack the final things I needed.  GL to you.

  • We had to be at the hospital at 5:30AM - and I got about 5-6  hours of sleep.  But I woke up about 3:00AM and couldn't go back to sleep as I was so excited.  So I got up and got dressed and put my makeup on to have something to do.

  • my water broke on its own the day before my scheduled section. perhaps I will find out this time. :)
  • I was amazed at the fact that I was able to sleep although it was not for a long amount of time. I got about 4 1/2 hours and then just got up and showered. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30 which meant leaving by 4:40ish...I took a nice shower and made sure I had everything and spent some times with my doggies...
  • Yup, I've slept well the night before all 3 times. I'm a "sleeper" though......love my sleep!

  • Not much.  I think I got 5 hours or so.  I was definitely ready to snuggle up and sleep with the baby that first night in the hospital by 7pm or so!

  • I did.  But, my surgery wasn't scheduled until 3.  My doctor suggested a unisom the night before so it could help me sleep through the hunger lol.

  • I was so excited and anxious I didn't go to bed until 12am because I was wide awake and got up at 4:30am to be at the hospital by 6am.  I didn't sleep well and maybe got 3 hrs or so of sleep.  I was running on adrenaline that morning and so was my DH because he didn't much sleep either.

  • I couldn't sleep at all...maybe a couple of hours.  I was nervous.  The first time wasn't planned, so I didn't have time to even think about it.  With my second I had 9 months to think about it, since it was scheduled. HA!  I also live far from the hospital and had to leave at 3:30 am to chek in at the hospital on time, so I worried about oversleeping.

  • I only got about two hours of sleep the night before. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30am and I usually go to bed late as it is.  But it was fine really. I was running on adrenaline for quite a while and was able to sleep later during the day.

  • I went into labor before my repeat c/s so I can't say for sure.  However, I know I'd probably have a hard time getting much sleep the night before because I'd be nervous/excited.
