Had our little girl on May 17!!!

Well, my water broke on May 16th at the Cheesecake Factory around 1 pm. I was with my 2 good friends who are maternity nurses! Couldn't have been better people to be with, but what a funny scene it was!

I labored for about 18 hours. Got an epi about 10 hours in because I couldn't hande it and the doc said it was slow progressing...I got to 10 cm and then was told she was still too high to deliver, so they gave me some pitocin to help me "labor down." Well, that didn't work and her heart rate started to act "funny."

The doctor suggested pushing for an hour, seeing what happened and then making a determination as to whether to do a c section or not. I pushed and she would come down and when I was done pushing, she'd go right back up. Needless to say, there was very little progress.

The doctor said her heartrate was still "funny" for lack of the more technical term they used and that the pushing was not being tolerated as she hoped, so, she said it was in the baby's best interest to have a c section.

Off to the OR, the big epi made me have the shakes, I could hear everything and realized they were having trouble getting her out! Why? Because she was too far down! Basically she was not far down enough, but had herself in a position where they had trouble "dislodging" her! She came out just fine and is gorgeous.

We are so in love. And so very tired. I am breasfeeding and she has been cluster feeding, so I am running on nearly no sleep. Combined with my c section discomfort/pain, I am looking forward to advancing 1 month where I feel better and I have a routine with her!
