Umbrella or light weight stroller

We're taking our first long weekend away and I just started to pack last night....wow! The stuff multiplies when traveling w/ a LO.  We're going to a beach location so our car will be packed w/ chairs, umbrella, toys, luggage and our enormous UppaBaby Vista!  I don't see how we can possibly fit all so am thinking it's time to buy a light weight or umbrella stroller.  I did not want to be that person that has numerous strollers especially that we don't have room for all in our apartment and already own a jogging stroller.....I swore the UBV would be all I need but how things change once LO arrives :-)

Anyway, if I am buying another stroller I would like it to recline so he can take his naps if we're out.  I looked into the UB G-Luxe but really don't want to spend that money.....do any of you have this stroller?  Is it worth it?  Any other light weight strollers you can recommend that recline?

  • This is what I have

It is cheap and I love it.  They sell other colors too, but this is the one I have.  It doesn't recline to a flat position but it does recline.  Violet has taken numerous naps in it.

I asked this recently as well and I have researching for a couple weeks now about what I want to get (we also have the Vista).  I think I have decided on the Joovy Groove.  You can see a Baby Gizmo review on Youtube.  I wanted one that reclined also and worked for tall people because my husband is 6'4''.  It looks awesome.  I think I am going to order it online from Buy Buy Baby with a 20% coupon which should take it down to $160.  Not cheap but I want something that will last for more than just a couple trips.  It's only sold at Buy Buy Baby right now also.

A few others that I am considering are

    Chicco Liteway

    Inglesina Trip

    Bumbleride Flite

    Peg Perego Si

    Uppbaby Gluxe

    Zooper Twist

I originally wanted something just cheap but now I think I am going to get something a bit higher end so these may be more than you are willing to spend.

  • I have the Uppababy G-luxe and it is great! I normally use the Vista but DH took it in the car yesterday and I needed a stroller. It is really comfy (the seat is very padded). DS seemed happy BUT I had a really hard time not being able to see him. I am ridiculous.

We're going to the beach this weekend too and I hadn't even thought about our ginormous britax b-ready taking up too much space!  Time to shop!

  • Anyone hear of the Maclaren Globetrotter?  It reclines and is the most inexpensive of the light weights that do recline.  Thinking of getting it

  • We have the Chicco Liteway. I really like it. It fully reclines, is fairly compact so I can still fit other things in my trunk, and she seems to really like riding in it.

I was going to ask if you had a jogging stroller.  Our citi-mini reclines by pulling on something in the back (I had no idea it reclined until I came home to find my husband's aunt had had it like that) and it has a nice canopy.  It also collapses well.

I used it everywhere I take him.

  • I got the britax b-nimble because I was tired of lugging around our big stroller and wanted something lightweight and that would fit through small shops. I also wanted something that folded up like an umbrella stroller but reclined and had a basket.  I like it since it fits the requirements I had and it folds up really easily.  She seems to be comfortable in it and has even fallen asleep in it. The only downside is that it has a small basket but it's better than not having one.

I decided on the Joovy Kooper.  It folds up like an umbrella stroller, reclines, has a large canopy (crucial for florida) and a roomy basket.  It was $120 @ amazon.
