1st Trimester

symptoms fading..is it normal?

I will be 7 weeks next week and I have had sore breasts, cramping, some nausea but the past two days the cramping has eased up and today I woke up with my breasts not as sore. Is it normal for symptoms to be worse one day than another? I just get so paranoid! My first appt is in 3 days

Re: symptoms fading..is it normal?

  • It's normal for symptoms to fluctuate. My ms and sore breasts went totally away for about 3 days, and came back with a vengeance last night. Hth!

  • Oh yes.  I was sick for a good 6 weeks or so and then one week I thought I was finally better and it was over and done with...until that Friday and I was sick again just for that one day.  Your body just likes to mess with you that 1st trimester.  Hopefully you'll feel better soon!
  • I barely had any symptoms with my first two. I think I took a dozen tests to keep checking. Its normal to be paranoid, even after you have your first appt. Its weird to know you have this major life changing event happening, you're growing a child and yet feel nothing! It wasn't until I was big and the baby was moving constantly that I finally started to calm down.
  • I have days that my symptoms are not very noticable and I feel a little worried about whether everything is ok. But it doesn't take long before they hit me again with full force. I never thought that I would perceive nausea to be reassuring!

I would recommend trying not to read too much into it as long as everything else is going ok (ie. no vaginal bleeding etc.), enjoy having a little time off from your symptoms and expect that you'll be seeing them again soon.

  • They come and go for me too and I also notice that when I am very busy I don't really notice them but I am not sure its because they have stopped at that point or I am so focused on other things I just don't notice.  Don't worry too much about that!
  • I've had symptoms 24/7 since week 3, and they've been tapering off a bit this week (I'm 9 weeks now).  I was worried too, since with DS1 I was sick all day until week 12.  Just went to the doctor's this morning for my first appointment, and everything looked great!  Don't worry... you'll get to see that little one in just a couple days!
