XP: 7 Week Ultrasound Update

I went in today for my second ultrasound. I am 7 weeks exactly. My first ultrasound at 5 weeks was fairly uneventful as I barely saw anything at all. At that time, my RE was pretty sure there was only one sac.
Well, today... there were TWO sacs and TWO heartbeats. I could barely see them, but they were there. I didn't get the heart rates or the sizes. They are implanted at the top of my uterus which is good, but they are difficult to get to on the trans-vaginal ultrasound.
Baby A is measuring about a week behind Baby B. The RE said he could have been a late implanter and will catch up and be fine, or it may not make it. Too early to tell. He feels pretty positive since it does have a heartbeat, but we'll just have to see how it looks at the next ultrasound.
I have also officially graduated from my RE. Now I need to see when I can get into see the OB.
I am still kind of in shock. Obviously I knew twins were a possibility since we put back two embryos, but it is still a shock to see on the ultrasound.

WOW! Congrats Melle! I'm lurking over here from TTCA35 and saw your post. Glad things are looking good, although I'm sure you are still trying to digest the information about twins
I am thinking of cautiously joining you over here on PGA35 although I'll feel more confident after the 6 week US on June 1st.

Holy Cow, that was quite an appt and I'm pretty sure that was not what you were expecting to hear. Congrats, Congrats! How exciting for you. Hopefully you can see an OB shortly and have another scan in a few weeks to see that everything is progressing nicely.
