Ring Sling...

So I was in whole foods today.  I was wearing my LO in my ringsling as she slept.  An employee came up to, asked about my lo, then told me she was surprised to see a sling because they are out of style and she has not seen one in the longest time...

I love the sling even more than my stretchy wrap and lo loves them both, did not know they went out of style haha.

Re: Ring Sling...

  • I had someone tell me they were going to compliment my shirt but then saw it was  actually carrying a baby. Apparently my sling isn't pretty because it carries a baby?

  • I was wearing mine to a craft show the other weekend and received so many compliments on it. One older gentleman goes "Things like that weren't invented when I had kids! It would have been so nice." I just smiled and thought, "Sure they were, just not in mainstream America!"
  • The one time I wore a ring sling in public (I'm more of a wrap girl) an older woman came up to me and tucked DD's feet into the sling, saying it was cutting of her circulation. Uh, thanks, lady.

An older lady said the same thing to me at Target and I had pretty much the same response in my head, ha ha.

  • I had a lady at the store come up and tell me she was so excited to see me wearing my baby.  I was all excited because it's kind of nice that someone else even recognizes babywearing.

Then she started going off on infant carseats and how parents never take their children out of them and that's what creates kids who can't behave. If it weren't for the carseats ADHD, Autism, etc wouldn't be an epidemic.  It's why kids didn't have that stuff when her kids were little (she was probably my parents age, late 50's).

I just smiled and nodded my way out of that one.

To my boys:  I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
