Here We Go Again.

Hello,

So Friday Ellie had a endocrinologist appointment. As usual we went in and they tested her and the the doctor came in. I could tell from the moment she walked in something wasn't right. Ellie's blood sugar was at 458. It was perfect the whole entire week and then it just spiked. So she said we will give her some insulin and so we did waited 30 minutes. 502. It went up. She was shocked as was I. Shocked. We rushed her to the hospital and then the fun began again. We tested her ketones and they were extremely high. That means her body was using fat for energy instead of glucose. So they looked and her ketones have never been this high. We took her temperature and it was normal. Then it began, she started throwing up and gagging and then she stopped breathing for a good 15 second. Then she started screaming and crying and of course I am bawling since I can't do anything and she is just laying there hopelessly. So Ellie is in the hospital. Throwing up and gagging and having high blood sugar and glucose numbers. She is being fed through and feeding tube and is on a breathing tube as well. I feel hopeless. I don't know what to do anymore

I seriously cannot imagine what you are going through. My husband is also a type 1 diabetic since birth but I can't imagine having a child sick like this. You and your whole family are in my prayers!! I'm tearing up right now because my heart just breaks for you... Hang in there mama!!!
