  im lerking from 3rd trimester .... im 37 weeks and let me tell you that by the time you get here ... your going to be sick of going to the doc. each time you go they check your bp and your urine.. ask if you have any questions as you get farther along they will check bp urine and then measure your uterus and check babys heart beat.. they will check babys heart beat every visit once you hit 5 months.. at least that is what they did for me i am a FTM also... after we found out the sex of the baby every apt was checking both of our heart beats ... now i go 2 times a week.. because they found protein in my urine and have to check the babys stress levels but usually it is broken down like this 1-5 months you go every 3 to 4 weeks ... 5-8 months every other week then each week..

  Depends how far along you are for the heart beat. My doc doesn't do ultrasound that is done somewhere else so those are different. But usually you pee in a cup and get weighed... Then the doc will ask you about your concerns feel your belly to find your uterus mine measured my belly too. After about 10-12 weeks they use the Doppler and listen to the heart beat. I think every doc is different and I am in Canada so it could be different.

  I am at 11w 3d. By the time I go for my next appt I will be 13 weeks. My husband isn't going with me this go round, but my mom is & I thought it would be cool for her to hear the heartbeat, but wasn't sure if they checked it every time or what. Thanks for the advice ladies.
