What is the best nipple cream you've found? When I b-fed DD, I used Lanolin, but I found it super harsh in the beginning stages when nipples are sensitive and painful. Any others that seem to work better?
I'm not breastfeeding yet, but my doula just left from our last prenatal visit, and she also suggested breast milk as being the best. will be interesting to see.
breast milk and airing out for a few minutes helps. Tender care lanolin from medela is smoother and doesnt hurt much like lansinoh...but you are supposed to warm up the lansinoh btwn your fingers to soften it.
You dont have to use anything, too much can make baby slip and have a bad latch. I would have some on hand and I loved the medela kind, but try to just air out and use BM to prevent soreness. That and switching nursing holds a lot, that I learned the hard way with DD. Her latch was always on the same spot and it killed, I switched holds some and it went away.

- air drying
- put the cream on the nipple pads instead trying to put it on you
- I liked the gel soothies for the first couple days
- 100% olive oil is safe (and it also doesnt need to be wiped off)
