So I got AF yesterday. The first one in 2 years. I've been off mirena for 1 month. I seriously feel I may bleed to death. Was anyone elses AF extremely heavy after Mirena or any BC?

My AF is always heavy off BC because BC made mine almost non-existent. When I was on BCP, I only had AF for two days, and hardly heavy enough for a tampon. Now, I go through tampons like crazy and need the variety box again!
I think what you're going through is normal, even though I was on the pill not Mirena.

I don't remember my first AF off BCP, but it was probably a little heavier than normal. I didn't get much of a period when I was on BCP, so I figure there is probably some, ahem, buildup.
I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you start to feel anemic. Hopefully the next one is better!

I only had an extremely light AF every few months on BC. My first AF off of BC came back with a vengeance. The second wasn't very nice, either (I've only been off of BC since February). I'm not thrilled about this at all, but hopefully it will be gone again, soon (that's the goal!)!
I was on Depo for 10 years (no periods during that time), then BCPs for a year. My first few periods after BC were super-heavy, and the PMS was horrible. I had terrible acne, and the cramps were bad enough that I considered not going to work a few times. I was working overnights at the time, and I spent one night (CD1 of my first post-BC period) curled up on the couch at work in pain. Luckily, the awfulness has subsided some. I've been off BC for 10 months now. I still break out a bit more than I remember, but I'm back to normal otherwise.
Yes! I felt like someone had run me over. In the two years I had Mirena, I maybe had 5 periods total with minimal spotting. Growing up I had those "must stay in bed all day" periods and in retrospect, this was much easier but still incredibly depleting.
I stopped BCP in November and my first period was really heavy and lasted 7 days. Since then, they've become a lot lighter and hang around anywhere from 3-5 days.
Mine was way heavier the first time after going off of daily BC pills. Now it's not as heavy, but lasts longer than it did on BC. Hopefully you'll balance out!
I got off the pill at the end of October and didn't get a period until the doc gave me Provera in February. And that period SUCKED. I don't know if it was the fact that I hadn't had a period in months, the provera or a combo of the two. But, I'm currently on my second AF post pill (that my body actually made on its own! I'm so proud!) and it hasn't been bad at all! *knock on wood* Hope it gets better soon!

OMG - my first AF after going off BC was HORRIBLE!! First, I thought we may be KU because I was having really bad PMS & thought that being late, the aches, fatigue & everything could have been early pregnancy symptoms. Then I bled for like 2x as long (& 2x as heavy) than when I was on the pill. I'm just hoping we get pregnant soon, because the fewer non-pill cycles I have to go through like that, the better!!!
Sounds like a heavy cycle after going off BC is pretty normal, so that puts some of my nerves at ease. Hope so for you, too!
Myles was so pumped about the baby . . . until he figured out he'd have to share all his toys!!! >
