5w4d Ultrasound of my two babies!

After trying to conceive for over 2 yrs I finally get to join pregnancy / multiples forum.

I had an early ultrasound last week and this is what we found. I'm still very nervous and worried, because one looks smaller than the other, but the U/S tech said it could be the difference of a couple of hours vs. a day. She said not to worry, but I can't help think of vanishing twin syndrome. No heartbeats yet, we have an U/S every week for the next 4-5 weeks. Any words of reassurance?

Congrats and Welcome!!!

Just try to enjoy every minute you can....you've been waiting for this moment!!! We didn't hear heartbeats until 7 w 4 d. Just a couple more weeks and you should see and hear those perfect heartbeats. Good Luck!!!

I think we all worry about vanishing twin syndrome! As soon as I found out it was twins, I started googling, and there is was...VTS. It's just one more thing for you to worry about. That's the whole reason I didn't tell anyone I was having twins until the second trimester (I just said I was expecting, and everyone assumed one baby). Try not to worry about this (easier said than done, I know). Ugh, I remember waiting for that second ultrasound...

We heard heartbeats yesterday!!!! 128 and120! They are still soooo tiny and measuring several days behind....but who knows when they implanted?

I feel so much better now that I've heard both heartbeats....

Hi Valery... I know this is an older forum but just wondering how long it was between the first ultrasound you posted and when you heard the heart beats. My husband and I have also been trying to conceive for 1.5 years and just got a BFP. We had our first ultrasound today and I should have been 6 weeks by lmp. To our surprise there were two gestational sacs !!! But they were both empty. My doc thinks I might be a little to early but I know my dates exactly and had to have a trigger shot so I know when I ovulated. Just terrified something could be wrong. We want these babies so bad!!!!!

Congratulations! One of mine was almost half the size of the other, and they are both there. I was worried about vanishing twin, too. I tried not getting attached and I didn't even join the multiples board until I was 12w along, just in case! Now I feel silly about it.

Mine were a significant size difference and were measuring a month apart until 15 weeks baby b had no fluid and well he is my very chubby twin! He was born a pound heavier

it's hard not to stress but here is my ultrasound to show you it can be different in size but you can still have a very positive outcome!!! Congrats!!!

My first u/s was at 7w0d. One was measuring on track and the other was a few days behind. My doctor mentioned Vanishing Twin and I spent the next 4 weeks worrying and researching. At my 11w appt and u/s I was so scared one would be gone but both are and were fine. Try not to stress too much about it. Oh and congrats! :-)
