My little guy is really stiff and straightens his legs and pushes. It means I can't easily get him to do the froggy leg in the Ergo but at the same time I feel like I might hurt him for his legs to be spread enough to accommodate my waist (I'm a size 18). Do you think it would hurt him to be nearly legs out? Do you have a recommendation? I'm not buying another carrier but I do have the Bjorn and Moby also. It's just the Bjorn I only use for quick stuff and the Moby is too darn hot (for me) for the play ground in full sun.
Re: Rigid baby and the Ergo
I have your solution (hopefully). One leg out.
Both my babies are super tall and have strong legs. So we're on baby number 2 of this strategy (and I'm larger as well, so I know about the straddle issue). When you put him in the Ergo tuck one leg under (not froggied, but under their body) and leave the other leg out the side. Both my babies have been comfortable and happy like that. It does put them up a little higher than both legs out so there's a weird "too tall but not flexible enough" phase but mine have long torsos so maybe you can avoid that phase. Just remember to switch which leg is tucked under each time. No need to switch during an outing, but the next outing tuck the other leg. Good luck.
