How often do you brush LO's teeth? Do you use the regular toothbrush or the silicone bristles?
We *try* to do every night but it doesn't always work out, mainly because she is always tired when she gets home. My friend freaked me out about skipping(she is a dentist), but yet still her kid is 21 mos and still takes a paci/ bottle (did not say this lol). I don't think it's that serious I guess.
Re: Teeth
I don't think it's anything to freak out about. I try to do DD's every night but sometimes it gets skipped then I'll do it in the morning. I asked the pedi at her last appt when she should go to the dentist and he said not until 3. Also, her teeth looked fine.
We use a regular brush made for toddlers.
If we skip, it gets skipped completely since I am not around in the morning. Man my coworker freaked the hell out of me bc she said DD will need fillings by 2... DD doesn't even have molars yet.
DD brushes her teeth first with just water then I use the silicone brush.
I try to brush JT's teeth everyday but it's usually after lunch HAHA Just works out that way...sometimes I can do it at night but I have a terrible memory!!
We just use a regular little brush with water. I have an appointment scheduled with the dentist at 18m just because I'll lose dental insurance after that and I've heard it's good to get them checked out and familiar with the dentist.
I would probably not be in a rush, however, if my dental insurance were continuing.
We brush her teeth twice a day. Usually after breakfast and right before bed. We use a toddler toothbrush and toddler toothpaste. Sometimes I also use the Spiffy's (tooth wipes) instead because I feel like I can clean her teeth better (but you have to watch out for them biting you!).
