I am the first of 2. I am definitely the stereotype. Responsible, respect authority, etc.
MH is #4 of 5 brothers. I think he has some 1st child characteristics b/c brother #3 is developmentally delayed, so I think he is like an older brother to him and #5.
Both DH & I are oldest children, and yes we fit the sterotype. Responsible, rule-abiding, type A goody too shoes
If this is the stereotype, then yes, this is totally me as the first born!
Yep, totally this. I am first born of two and a total perfectionist, very responsible, and enjoy making others happy (I totally just googled birth order traits lol).
DH is an only child and I guess he does fit the stereotype according to google: perfectionist, doesn't take criticism well, responsible, and comfortable being center of attention.

I'm the middle child (of 3) but I?m the only girl so I don?t 100% fit the stereotype. DH is the second boy (of 4) but he's his mother?s favorite so acts more like an oldest.

DH and I are both youngest of two. I guess the stereotype for that is a risk-taker, and a little bit spoiled. I don't think either of us really fit that, but we're both more adventurous than our older siblings, I guess. My sister always has pointed out that I always just smiled and nodded when my parents gave me advice, and then went and did whatever I wanted.
ETA: I guess another stereotype is that we're the comedians of our families, which DH definitely is.
I'm the 2nd of 4, so kind of a middle child. I'm definitely the peacemaker, I think that's a middle child trait?
Definitely, my sister that is the 2nd of 4 is the glue that keeps us all together. LOL.
Since my three siblings are all 8+ years older than me, I have some first born/only child traits. I am very responsible and somewhat of a perfectionist. But I also have the outgoing and risk taking traits and a little bit of spoiledness.
DH is the youngest of two. I can't really peg him with the youngest child traits though.

I always think of middle children being the difficult one : ) But I
wonder if it's different if there are 2 middle children? I am the oldest
of 3 girls and my middle sister is/was definitely the high-maintenance
child, but my BIL is #2 in a family of 4 and he is definitely the
peacemaker/a low-key personality and my SIL (#3) is a nutcase.
I'm the youngest (of two) and the only girl. I don't necessarily feel like I fit in to the traditional stereotype of baby of the family, but my brother may disagree
DH is the middle and he doesn't fit the standard stereotype either. If anything, he's more like an oldest and his older brother is more like a middle. His sister is definitely a walking stereotype of youngest/only girl!
ETA: There is also 5 years between my brother and I, and I think that's why we both act like oldest children.
DH and I are both the oldest (of 2). I'd say we fit the stereotype of oldest child more so than not. For me, I'm responsible, a perfectionist, a caregiver, and I'm approval-seeking, but not so much an over-achiever. DH also has many of those traits, but he was the rebellious trouble maker in his family (a role normally taken by the youngest sibling - like my sister).

DH and I are both the youngest, I have 3 older brothers and DH has 2 older sisters. I don't really think either if us fit the stereotype, we don't crave attention, we're not irresponsible or immature, (although i'm more mature than DH). I don't know if it makes a difference but I only have older brothers and he only has older sisters. I'm looking forward to reading the other responses!
My brothers would say I was spoiled though, which may have a little truth to it.

I am the youngest and my parents only child together. I have a half-brother from my mom's first marriage, and a half-sister from my dad's first marriage.
Yes, I fit the stereotype. I am their little princess. My parents both still spoil me and cater to me. Of course, I wouldnt have it any other way!
And, my baby is the first granddaughter, so she is getting some major spoiling as well.

I'm first of two. I am goal-oriented and headstrong, but I wouldn't call myself a total type A personality...by the rest of my family's standards maybe (my parents and bro are all the babies in their birth order lol).
DH is the baby of two (also the youngest of many, many cousins, so he's THE BABY of the family). He very, very, very perfectionist and a complete type-A BUT he also fits the spoiled stereotype...he's used to getting his way. I think he fits more the stereotype of an only child. His bro is 4 years older and I heard once that after a 3 year gap it's almost like having two seperate "only children"..in his case that seems true.

I think birth order is fascinating!

This made me LOL because I do the same thing. Once I got older my mom would say, "Do what you want to do, because you will anyway."
Haha this exactly.
I do not. I am the #2 of 2. Although some of traits of the youngest do fit, none of the oldest characteristics fit my brother and they all fit me...
My DH is a true middle child.
I always think of middle children being the difficult one : ) But I wonder if it's different if there are 2 middle children? I am the oldest and defintaely have the traits of that! I am a type-A, goody two shoes to a T.
DH is the baby and definately has those traits as well.

My Blog: Decorate This
I'm not sure. I am number 9 of 10 with my younger sister being my twin and the next one up being 7 years older.
I am fairly responsible, somewhat creative, a people pleaser and mostly I wanted to fly under the radar and not get in trouble.
My brothers would say I was spoiled though, which may have a little truth to it.
