When I was pregnant, I really wanted a
Beaba Babycook. My mom got me one for my shower and I was excited. I saw a post about it on TB and a lot of people said waste of money, overpriced, yada yada. But I absolutely love it. I have a food processor and that thing is a PITA! Plus you have to steam it first which makes too many dishes for this mama. You just toss in the food, add water, and turn it on. When it is done, you flip the button over to puree. It is SO easy. I am saving a lot of money on making it myself too. And you can freeze it in ice cube trays. Anyway I was very confused about solids when LO was younger so I just wanted to share my experience. Pouches are good for on the go but making your own food is awesome.

Re: Product rave! (solids related)
I plan on doing this too, but I want the Baby Brezza Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-priority:99; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin-top:0in; mso-para-margin-right:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:10.0pt; mso-para-margin-left:0in; line-height:115%; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:11.0pt; font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"; mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri; mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri; mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}

It had better reviews, is less expensive, and I read about the Beaba having mold issues in the water tank.
In conjunction with that you should try this:

We put homemade purees in there for on the go instead of buying the pouches. I use it with my 2 year old so I can't specifically vouch for ease of use with a little one, but I wanted to share.
How easy are they to clean? I would hate to know how much a month we are spending on DD's puree packets.
Super ridiculously easy. I wash ours with the bottle brush because we use it so frequently that I'm always washing it out just so I can use it again. However, they are dishwasher safe and there aren't multiple parts like some bottles (just the cap and the "bottle").
