Thought I got "The Call"...
So we are still waiting on our license to be offical through the state, but I know many people have their licenses rushed through if they are needed to foster, and have been hoping that would be us.
Today I got a call from a place talking about how they work hand in hand with our county in the foster care program and did I have a moment to talk? I thought FOR SURE they were calling to ask us to foster for them!! No such luck. They just wanted to survey us and find out general information about our ages and stuff to keep track for national statistics. Ugh! I was so excited!
DH has a friend of his in town for the weekend and I figured that Murphy's Law would dictate we get kids while we are busy with that... I guess not. LOL Oh well... so close yet so far away still...

Before we were licensed I always thought we would get "the call" before we were licensed. Then I figured that they would say "Congrats! You are licensed! Oh, and I have a child here waiting for placement". Neither of those happened for us.
And I completely hear you on the Murphy's Law logic. Although it did prove to be right for us and getting our first respite care placement. I have been leading a committee for a Block Party for months. We are expecting about 250 people. Of course 3 days before the big party is when we were asked to take 2 kids over the weekend. I'm hoping the kids will have a blast at the block party. But if not, there are more imporant things than a party!
Hang in there! I think the waiting has been the hardest part so far!
