I constantly trip over the gates and stub my toe and it is so darn fustrating. So for that reason I got the gate below for our narrow doorway. It has a ramp so you do not stub your toe. However, I have a 64 inch opening to the kitchen we need a gate for and this one cant extend that far.
Have you all come across a product or solution to prevent you from tripping over the gates?

Re: Tripping over the baby gate?
No suggestions, but I'm right there with you on tripping! Last week I was cleaning our office, which we have gated because it was so disasterous that we were afraid he'd get lost! That, and try to get in the litter box, the main reason it's gated. But I was walking over the gate, tripped on a cat and busted the heck out of my knee because it went straight into the door frame.
It's no longer swollen but it's still bruised (yellow now!) and scabbing up.
Damn that sounds terrible. Gald you are all right! I would have gone on strike from little box duty and delegated to DH after that!
What about a gate like this? We have an odd sized opening and have something like this one. It is a pain because you have to unhook the gate each time you want to walk through-no easy gate! But, there is also nothing to trip on and it fits wider openings. DS will pull on it from time to time, but so far it has held tight. Not the prettiest thing to look at though.
