Need some ideas...

LO is due the 10th. This will be hubbys first father's day, and really want to get him something special, esp after the long awaited arrival after TTC. DH and I have been together for almost 10 years so he has gotten everything from a new flat screens, games and gaming systems, and a new truck. Not to mention our anniversary is next week, so he'll get something thats not baby specific.

 I want to get him something special for his first father's day. It doesnt have to be expensive, although price is not an issue. I just want something special, however options are a little limited with LO not being here yet. I thought about the "daddy poem" and having the hospital or my sister get LO's handprints on the poem, and having it framed for him. I figure LO wont make his or her appearance until a few days before father's day, so I cant really get something personalized with pics of baby and have it here in time.

What did you ladies do for DH first fathers day or do you have plans?

    i bought  my DH a book to read to LO for his first fathers day. It was daddy specific, you could go to the bookstore and ask for ideas.

    Thats a good idea, esp since DH said he wants to take over the night time routine (bathing/lotion/massage/story time) since I'm planning on BFing. He wanted nighttime routine as him and baby's time. So daddy specific books would be perfect. :) Ill do that, and maybe couple it with something else. Thanks :)

    My DH wears a tie to work everyday so I decided to buy him a footprint tie:

    You stamp the baby's footprints and handprints on the tie, and also a #1 Dad mug because he got me a #1 Mom mug for Mother's Day :D

    there is a board book called My daddy and Me, has a kid on a swing on the cover. DS loves it, esp cause Daddy travels a lot, so he likes daddy books.
