Re: ~*~Weekly PG Check-in~*~

  • QOTW: I think my mom and Mil will be here after the baby is born but not at the same time I hope they will only be here for 2 weeks total but I have not had that talk yet so who knows.

I am feelling very well and baby boy is as well we had a ultrasound yesturday but he did not want to show his face. But I get another one so yah.

Have a great weekend. Happy Turkey Day

  • Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

QOTW: Yes, I will have my mom come stay with me at some point after the baby comes.  Baby C will be here during her summer vacation, so it's perfect timing!  I don't think I want her to come right away--I'll probably wait and have her come after DH has to go back to work.  I don't know how long she'll stay, and I probably won't know how long I'll want her to stay until the baby actually gets here.  MIL is physically handicapped, and unfortunately our house is really hard for her to maneuver, so she probably won't come at all.  Or, it she does come, it wil be for a short visit.

Update: So far today I am not feeling too nauseous, but it's started hitting me in the early afternoons and lasting through the evening.  So, we'll see.  I have been able to eat a few real meals (e.g. not cereal, crackers, or plain pasta) which is really exciting!!  According to my scale, I've lost 5 lbs, which I am not happy about, but at least I know Baby C is getting some food even if I'm not eating a lot.  I'm looking forward to seeing my family in a few hours!!

  • QOTW: Mom and MIL?? Uh, no.  My sister (and possibly BIL) probably will. I don't know how long they can stay b/c they work full-time, too, but as long as they want to, they'll be appreciated.

Update: Friday is V-day for us!!!! I'm feeling ok, still sick, but ok. And I have a week and a half until my 1hr glucose test. Nothing much else is new - except that Ocho's kicking/boxing moves can now definitely be seen from the outside! J saw it the other night and was amazed at it already, and he's felt her move a few more times, too.

    Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

  • Happy Turkey Day everyone!!

QOTW:  I think MIL will come visit about a month or so after Baby Froggi gets here and will probably only stay for a few days.  Maybe a week, max.  My mom on the other hand...oh boy...I have no idea what she has planned.  I dread the day she tells me what she has decided she will do because in her mind it will be non-negotiable.  I have a feeling she will want to follow us home from the hospital and not leave till I kick her out.  I love her, but she has a knack for pushing my buttons when I'm stressed.  Any extended visit while I'm sleep-deprived and hormonal will be...interesting.

Updates:  Still feeling great.  Baby Boy is moving around all the time, which I still love.  I fell off the exercise wagon last week when I caught a tummy bug and need to get back with the program.  I sleep sooooo much better when I'm doing at least some sort of exercising.

  • QOTW: My mom is coming to stay with us when the baby is born but im not sure for how long. My MIL is coming, but asked to only stay for three days when the baby is born. I'm just nervous about having too many people around at first and want to have some time to get to know the baby. Only three weeks later, for christmas, the whole family is coming to Austin to see the baby and "help." I'm more nervous about that than the actual visitors when the baby is born.

Updates: I'm still here, still pregnant. please send labor dust my way-i want to get this baby out of here and in my arms!

?I have an OB appointment today at 11:15 to check on the baby and see if i've made any progress at all. i'm scheduled for an induction starting sunday night, but am wondering about pushing it off even more. inductions terrify me. ?

  • QOTW: My parents have tickets to come and stay with us for two weeks. they arrive 2 days before my due date, so who knows how long it will actually be with the baby. Then my IL's are coming our for a week after my parents' two week visit. It's quite hard to plan when everyone lives half way across the country. I keep telling myself that i'll be thankful to have help that long, but honestly having guests that long really freaks me out!

Updates: I'm finally getting over the cold i had last week and feel much better. I'd have to say last week was the hardest of my pregnancy so far! Otherwise i'm feeling fine and looking forward to the long weekend.

     Happy Thanksgiving!!!

look at it this way, at least you'll be delivering in the new wing right? do you know if it opened?

  • QOTW:  MIL, dad, and mom all were at the hospital for delivery (not in the room).  They all stayed at our house while we were at the hospital.  MIL went home the next day, dad stayed 2 days (left the day we came home), and mom stayed for about a week (about 4-5days of us actually being home. MIL then came the day after mom left and stayed for a week.  It was WONDERFUL!  They both were soooo helpful.  They took care of the house, cooking, cleaning, etc while DH and I took care of Abby.  I was a little worried about MIL just wanting to hold the baby all the time, but she was not like that at all.  She concentrated on taking care of me and the house.

We will probably do the same with #2.  It will be nice to have someone around to help with Abby for a while.

Updates: nothing new. Feeling pretty good!

  • our OB said it opened on Saturday. Apparently the L&D rooms are open, but the postpartum ones wont be open for awhile. I guess I'll get to see it all in a few days :)

  • Oh, don't forget the next PG GTG is set for Dec 9th!  If you did not get the evite or need to be added let me know.
  • QOTW: MIL is a definite no. She is bipolar and paranoid schizophrenic and I'm sorry, but I can't take care of her and a newborn at the same time. She is certainly welcome to visit with the rest of the family, but having her here alone with me would make me go crazy (wow, I sound so mean). Not sure about my mom. She only lives about 15-20 minutes away from me and depending on how my dad is doing, may need to be at home with him. I'm sure she will be at the house a lot. I would love to have her stay with us, but just not sure if it is possible.

I am feeling so much better this week than last. Yay, just in time to enjoy Thanksgiving! I have my NT scan on Monday, which we are really looking forward to and my last day of progesterone suppositories will be Tuesday. Hooray! Then it's just counting down to 2nd tri (never thought I'd get there!- only 12 days!)

  • I'm feeling fine.

Both mom and mil live in town so they don't really stay overnight.  I so wish they did and I'm totally jealous of those who have the live in help for weeks.  I guess the trade off is I can have then help anytime I need them.

  • QOTW: My mom lives in town, so she won't stay w/ us - just come over whenever I need her. MIL/FIL live out of town & will prob do what they did last time - come for a week when baby is 3-4 weeks old. I was very nervous about their visit last time, but they ended up being a godsend. MIL was (unexpectedly) awesome b/c she would insist that I get out for a bit on my own. Last time she MADE me go get a pedi and take walks while she & FIL watched DS. It was so nice to be able to get out for just an hour. This time I imagine they'll be a big help with entertaining DS.

Update: Feeling queasy but started taking zofran so doing ok. Whenever I start feeling sorry for myself that I feel permanently carsick, I think about poor mcurban and quickly realize I should not be complaining. ;)

    *~*~smooth labor dust~*~ boxermomma!!

  • QOTW:  My mom and MIL will be coming together and staying for about a week after the baby is born.  I wish my mom could stay longer, but she has to work.  Sad

Update:  I passed the 1-hour glucose test on Friday and I was given the go ahead to enjoy a second helping on Thanksgiving.  Yippee!  The test wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  Everything is looking good and Baby Girl's growth is right on schedule.

Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

ETA:  Holy cow!  I can't believe I'm already in the third trimester!  We're starting our two-week appointments now.  This pregnancy is flying!  Sorry, just had to get that out.

  • QOTW: My mom lives only about 30 minutes away so there will be no need for her to come stay, but I'm sure she'll be over a lot.  Not sure about MIL, she's a little crazy so I'm not sure what she's planning.  I hope she and FIL come to visit but they always say they will and never do so I'm not sure what will end up happening.

I'm feeling great.  I went in for my 20 wk appt and baby is healthy and measuring 2 days before my DD.  He weighs 13 oz.  He was all over the place.  :)

    I'm ready for Tgiving! :)

  • QOTW: My mom lives 5 minutes away, so she'll be here often, but not staying with us. MIL will not be either. They may get a hotel room and stay, but they're not staying here! DH still needs to have this talk with her.

Update: I'm feeling good but a little paranoid after having BH contractions almost every day for the past week. I know everything is fine - it's just hard to not think of all the bad things that could happen! I'm really trying to take it easy, drink lots of water, and sit/lay down with my feet up. It seems to help the BH contractions quite a bit.

    Lots of Labor Dust!!!!!!!!

I did not have a typical induction, but I did have to have a pitocin drip.  (my water broke but I did not start contrax on my own for 6 hours).  While I know it is scary there ARE good induction stories out there.  I could not have asked for a better labor honestly.  nice and easy, 6 hours from the start of pitocin to Abby being born.

    Good Luck!

  • We have talked about it and don't want anyone staying with us right away when we come home.  They can come over if they want, but DH and I also want some alone time to bond with the new baby and make the transition for our dog.  I think once DH goes back to work my mom will come over during the days since she will be on summer vacation from teaching.

I am feeling good, except for the acne all over my face!  I thought I was supposed to be glowing, not looking like a teenager!  I am SOOOO anxious about our sono appointment on Monday!  I really hope the little one cooperates so we can find out the sex.  I've already warned DH that I am going shopping immediately, so he better just keep up or get out of the way!!

  • QOTW:  I don't think they'll stay.  They'll visit but since my mom is just in Austin and my MIL lives here in NB, there's no reason for them to stay over, I think.  Jay will probably take some sort of short leave from work (he'd better!) so that'll be helpful.

Feeling fine, just posted about my 20w appt.  :)

  • Boxermama - You're still here! I hope your DD decides to make her entrance soon! Wishing you tons of smooth and easy Labor Dust!! Is there someone you'll be notifying on the board when you do go in?

QOTW: MIL passed away a few years ago so she was never able to meet her grandchild(ren). :( I would have loved to have her come and stay with us and meet her grandsons. My mom came and stayed with us and helped out with DS for a whole month when my mat leave was over and it was a dream. She plans on doing the same this time around. I am secretly hoping that she stays longer this time. Seriously, DH is actually cool with this as well, as long as we get the time to bond after the baby is born. We'll probably wait again until my mat leave is over for her to come and stay.

Updates: I moved my next appointment out a few days. I'm just not ready to face that horrible GT test again. I don't want to fail the 1-hour and have to take the 3-hour again. I know, I'm just prolonging the inevitable. I can't believe I'm almost in the 3rd tri. It's CRAZY! Little guy is doing great. Except for a few bouts of heartburn and my ribs expanding, no complaints. :-)

Here's some hope for you :) I had horrible acne all throughout my first trimester and a few weeks into my second. It's all clearing up now and my skin is super soft! I'm not sure if it's the new face wash (Grapefruit Acne Cleanser by Neutrogena - doc said the little salicylic acid in it won't hurt) or that my hormones are going down...but give it a few more weeks and hopefully it'll clear up for you too!

  • QOTW: My MIL/FIL live in Manor so I'm sure they'll pop in, but doubt they'll spend the night.  My mom is more than likely going to come stay with us for a couple weeks.....I honestly want her to come stay as long as possible!!  They (my mom & dad) are thinking about retiring soon, so maybe they'll just move to Austin.  Big Smile

Update: Still feeling fine.  I had a flu shot yesterday so I feel pretty crappy today but I think it's due to the shot & not because of my PG.  Hopefully I start feeling better before Turkey Day!!

Sending lots of *** LABOR DUST *** to boxermomma!!!!

    image
  • QOTW- Both sets of parents live in town, so they will come over but not stay with us.  SIL normally stays with us for 3 weeks during the holidays but we said no this year.  It's always stressful, so I can't imagine doing it with a newborn, too.

Updates- 37w2d. I'm sick and it sucks.  The baby is measuring a little over 7lb already and I am not dilated at all.  Dr. S expects me to make it until the 8th for my c/s.  I have been stressed about getting things ready, but I am so excited for next week to prepare for DS's arrival and spend quality time together while we are just a family of 3.

Boxermomma- Lots of Labor Dust coming your way!  I was induced with DD and it went really well.  She ended up being breech, so I had a c/s, but that wasn't induction related.  I started having contraction from the cervadil and then they started pitocin in the morning.  I was 8-9cm by 2:30 that afternoon and felt great.  I hope you go on your own, but like abbysmom said, there are plenty of smooth induction stories out there!

  • I have no idea what my dad plans.  Hopefully it is not to come and stay with us!  My mom and MIL both live in town so I don't think they'll be staying with us, but I have a feeling that my mom is going to be over a lot!  Also, DH is going to take a month off so I am really excited about that.

Update: I'm still on the progesterone, but I go back in a week and a half for more blood work so I might be done with it then.  I'm feeling better, but still pretty crappy.  Just nausea and extreme congestion.  I think that they might be related.

  • Sending lots of labor dust to you, Boxermama.  And thanks for the love!

QOTW:  I think my mom will probably come to Austin but stay with my sister since she's allergic to my kitties.  We haven't really talked about that yet.  She is going to drive me crazy...  I know my MIL would love to fly over from England but with her lung cancer and the forthcoming chemo/radiation, I doubt that is going to be possible, and I know she's really upset about that.  :(  We're hoping she'll go into remission long enough to make a trip some time while the babies are still babies.

Update:  Since I told my mom last week, she has been on a non-stop high, calling or emailing almost every day with advice, suggestions, and grand plans.  And I know she is her restraining herself.  :)   She also said that she wanted to buy the BOB Revolution Duallie for us!  YAY!  She didn't even know that it was top of my wishlist - she just sent an email telling me to look into it.  I was surprised she'd even know such a thing existed.

I feel great.  Just very tired.  And I'm getting nauseous if I don't eat - I spent 40 minutes concentrating on NOT throwing up during the impossibly long bus ride home yesterday.  Good stuff.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • QOTW: I'm not sure. I know my mom won't because she lives 2 miles from me. I hope MIL doesn't, but I don't know where else she'll stay.

Updates: The big u/s is on Tuesday and we're so excited! I got a call today saying that all of our nursery furniture except for the crib is ready to be picked up so we'll pick it up on Friday. We traded in our Accord for a CRV today..I think it will be easier with transporting the baby and dog.
I've been feeling movement a few times a day for the past week or so.
