Anyone else have a UTI early in pregnancy?

I'm 4 weeks pregnant with my second kiddo. I have been having some on and off cramping the past few days and some pelvic pain that started this morning. I've also had some other symptoms of a UTI today so my Dr is sending me in for betas this afternoon and again on Monday morning just to be sure. They are also starting me on antibiotics. I was worried at first with just the cramping/pain but I am slightly relieved to be experiencing UTI symptoms, hoping that the antibiotics will fix this and all will be well. Has anyone else gone through this?

Yep I had never had one before until I got pregnant, and it was early in the first tri. My Dr, said its completely normal when pregnant to have UTI's.

I had one around week 5 - doctor prescribed cephelex 500mg(sp?) - I had to take 4 pills a day for a week. I go back for another urine screening next week. I had no symptoms of the UTI.

I had one that they found in my first round of tests... pretty common.

I am going through the same thing now. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and they gave me macrobid for 10 days

I had one too at 5 weeks, was put on Amoxicillon

I had one at 10 weeks last time, I had such bad cramps in my stomach I thought my appendix was going to burst (so did the doctor) until they made me do a urine test and figured out it was just a bladder infection.

Exactly this! Went to the dr. at 5 weeks exactly and was put on Macrobid. It's very common in pregnancy.

Yep! With DD I had one at 6 weeks and then another uti at 30 weeks. I remember the pelvic pain from the uti in the 1st trimester it was painful but my Dr. said it was normal.

I was misserable with a UTI, for those weeks I added a cranberry pill to my vitamins and that helped me tremendously. I asked my doctor and the cranberry was able to keep me off antibiotics. Now it's all gone. Good luck, it will pass!

Thanks, ladies! I had my first betas drawn yesterday afternoon & started on Keflex last night. The pain is substantially better today so I am hopeful the pelvic pain was related to the UTI and not the baby. Going in first thing Monday am for my second betas... hoping everything turns out ok.
